Yesterday I participated in the 'free Disneyland ticket on your birthday' promotion. And now I have a Disneyland hangover.
What was cool about this promotion was that it didn't end at the free ticket. The birthday boy or girl (woman or man) is given a button that has "happy birthday" printed on it with a space for your name (my lady wrote my name then made two little Mickey Mouse shapes on either side). The people celebrating with you get buttons that read: I'm celebrating!
All day long the park employees (excuse me, cast members) wished me a, "Happy Birthday." The well-wishes didn't end there for me...I had complete strangers (or people that also had a birthday) wish me a "Happy Birthday" as well - which created a festive and celebratory environment for all.
Overall...a good day.
How can you take the spirit of a birthday and infuse it into your everyday connection with others? What's different about a person having a birthday verses a person that that's not?
I'd love to hear your comments and discoveries.
wow!!! sounds fun.
